Wendy has lived most of her life in Vancouver, Canada, and has hosted more than eight-dozen international students from 19 countries since 1995, hence the source of her insight for writing this novel.
She completed her Bachelor’s degree in English and Fine Art at the University of Toronto and began editorial work in that city. Returning to Vancouver, she later did graduate studies at the University of British Columbia obtaining a PhD in the Department of Curriculum Studies after receiving an MA from the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Photographing Vancouver’s nature, architecture, and sculpture, as well as drawing, calligraphy, and making images with non-traditional materials, are some of Wendy’s interests that are apparent in this novel.
Wendy has written and or edited and produced education, business, and academic publications as well as course materials for distance education. In 2012, she contributed monthly articles about Vancouver to a Japanese e-magazine entitled Cradle Our Spirit. During the past year she has also been researching and writing a children’s book on Canadian cities.
Wendy is politically active in her community and cares deeply about Canada’s role in the world. She is extremely concerned about human damage to the environment. She is pleased that her daughter’s career is committed to corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
